Dog Reactivity & Social Sensitivity
Paula, with Indy -
“ I was looking for support and advice with my young anxious, reactive golden retriever. I was impressed with Sezan’s knowledge and experience and that’s why I chose Oz Dogs. I am very glad I did. It was reassuring for Sezan to meet Indy and assess him after an initial in-depth virtual discussion.
Sezan gave us a clear action plan but most importantly for me, the confidence in how to manage and support Indy’s behaviour. Six months on from our last meeting with Sezan, I am so pleased with Indy’s progress. Out and about, days out, cafes, holidays, busy places with dogs, people, Indy, with our support, is able to cope much better, chill out and is much less reactive. Thank you Oz Dogs”.
Dog Behaviour Support Recognised by Pet Insurance
As Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourists (CCAB) registered with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC), we are recognised by pet insurance. We recommend contacting your provider directly to confirm your level of cover before booking.
Dog Reactivity Training & Behaviour Support - Bristol & Surrounding Areas
As a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CCAB) with 15+ years of experience, my reactivity package is designed specifically for dogs showing reactivity, aggression, fearful or overexcitable behaviour towards unfamiliar dogs or people - whether on walks, at the door, or in other everyday situations. If your dog's socially sensitive behaviour is making walks stressful or having visitors hard, your in the right place.
The dog reactivity package is structured differently from the standard behaviour package, replacing on-demand messaging support with hands-on dog training. What you lose in remote support, you gain in real-world training.
I take the time to understand each dog individually - their history, health, environment and the people around them - before building a plan that is genuinely tailored to the individual. You'll leave sessions with a clear understanding of what's driving your dog's reactivity and the practical skills to help them.
I offer in-person dog reactivity training in Bristol and within approximately one hour, including Bath, Cardiff, Newport, Weston-super-Mare, Bridgwater, Wells, Glastonbury, Thornbury, Yate, Frome, Chippenham, the Mendips, the Forest of Dean, the Cotswolds and the Wye Valley. O
Step 1- Remote Reactivity Consultation
We start with a remote video consultation to explore your dog's history and your unique situation; putting the theory and behavioural foundations in place to help your dog feel their best and ensure you are managing their day-to-day behaviour . You'll receive a personalised behaviour report and are welcome to record the session.
Step 2 - Practical Reactivity Support
Your package includes follow-on practical dog training support split over 3 months, including:
• 3 in-person dog reactivity training sessions at our South Bristol base OR
• 2 home visits within approximately one hour of Bristol (subject to suitability)
Standard reactivity package: £450
Evening and weekend appointments: £490
Frank, with Elsie -
“ Sezan was excellent in helping us overcoming Elsie’s reactive behaviour to other dogs. She was diligent in understanding the behaviour and analysing the root cause.
The report and subsequent training sessions and methodologies were thorough and effective. Sezan provided us with the right tools and coached us in our behaviour to help Elsie deal with and respond to the situations we were struggling with.
We are delighted with the outcome and the positive change in Elsie’s behaviour. Would highly recommend Oz Dogs for their expertise and professional competence”
Step 3 - Support For The Journey
Behaviour change is a journey, not a destination. Work will be ongoing at home. For those looking for a helping hand or more advanced dog training skills, I am always here to help. If you are claiming dog behaviour support through pet insurance, follow-on training is typically covered.
