About us

Our Story

Sezan and Sue are Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourists (CCAB), full members of the Association for Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC), the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Consultants (FABC) and registered with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC)

Sezan founded Oz Dogs in 2022 to support dog owners and professionals; and continues to run the business. One year later and she was delighted to officially welcome Sue to the family - uniting the knowledge and skill of two dog behaviour experts. Sezan and Sue work side by side, discussing behaviour cases and sharing ideas. This is something they have much practice in, having enjoyed a friendship and professional relationship spanning over 15 years!

Today they bring complementary set of skills to dog behaviour clients at Oz Dogs. Continuing to work in leading non-profit animal rehoming/rescue organisations as well as higher education providers means they have a varied set of ever-evolving insights and ideas to share with one another, and the Oz Dogs family!

    About Sezan

Sezan has specialised for over a decade in clinical behaviour consultancy, within higher education providers and animal welfare organisations worldwide. She loves hands on dog training - taking evidence-based theory and making it fun, effective and practically applicable in everyday life with dogs.

Sezan holds an honours (BSc-hons) and masters by research (MSc-r) degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare Sciences from Bristol Veterinary School. Here she stayed to complete a 3-year postgraduate clinical training residency, following which she became Acting Clinical Lead at the Langford Animal Behaviour Clinic. During this time she saw cases, taught University students about behaviour and supervised junior residents.

Following a passion for ‘on the ground’ behaviour modification and rescue work, Sezan made the move across to non-profit animal rescue and rehoming organisations, including; RSPCA Victoria (Melbourne), the Dogs Trust, and Bath Cats and Dogs Home. Sezan continues to provide staff development opportunities to such organisations as well as hands-on dog behaviour and training help, before and after adoption.

Sezan has a passion for practical dog training, building competitive obedience and scent-based skills with her own dogs. She loves to help owners nurture their own talents for dog training while making outdoor adventures fun and accessible for all.

Sezan created Oz Dogs to creatively support a small family of socially sensitive dogs; and she manages the business alongside her ongoing charity sector work.

Helen with ‘Brenna’ the Kerry Blue Terrier

“Highly recommend Oz Dogs. I have a very reactive, anxious girl in certain situations with some dogs. Sezan has been a huge help working with us explaining the likely causes and giving me the tools and confidence to help Brenna remain calm and less anxious.”
