About Öz Dogs
Öz Dogs is an independent dog behaviour and training practice founded in Bristol in 2023 by Sezan Öz, MSc CCAB. Sezan brings 15+ years of clinical, rescue and hands-on dog training experience to homes and rescue organisations across the UK and worldwide. In 2024 Dr Sue Horseman, FHEA CCAB, joined the team to help owners looking for her specific set of expertise. Sue adds 20+ years of experience in the animal sector and a career in higher education that keeps Öz Dogs at the sharp end of emerging evidence-based best practice.
Together, Sezan and Sue are Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourists (CCAB), full members of the Association for Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC) and the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Consultants (FABC), and registered Clinical Animal Behaviourists with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC).

Sezan Öz, MSc CCAB - Bristol Dog Behaviourist
With 15+ years of experience working across university clinics, rescue organisations and private practice in the UK and internationally, Sezan specialises in reactive dogs, rescue dog behaviour, and complex cases that need an extra helping hand.
Sezan holds an MSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare Science from Bristol Veterinary School, where she also completed a Clinical Behaviour Residency before becoming Acting Clinical Lead at Langford Animal Behaviour Clinic, Bristol. From 2015 she moved into the rescue sector, supporting leading rehoming organisations with dog behaviour assessments, training courses and plans, post-adoption support, internal policies and staff development.
Her approach is positive, practical and built around the individual - combining reward-based methods with a holistic view of the dog's life, environment and relationship with their caregivers.
Outside of work, Sezan keeps busy building training foundations with her young sports dog Remedy the Malinois, and enjoys adventures and fun with Vice the Schipperke.

Helen with ‘Brenna’ the Kerry Blue Terrier
“Highly recommend Oz Dogs. I have a very reactive, anxious girl in certain situations with some dogs. Sezan has been a huge help working with us explaining the likely causes and giving me the tools and confidence to help Brenna remain calm and less anxious.”
